When it comes to getting your vehicle in here to Chuck’s Auto Repair for tuneup service you know you need but have been putting off, we understand completely that life has a way of making scheduled maintenance seem like the least of your priorities.
Neglect your vehicle’s tuneup service for too long and it will start hiccupping. It may not start when you need it to. This may also trigger a check engine light and cause poor gas mileage or car vibration. It may die in traffic as you’re turning left at a busy intersection, posing a serious safety risk. It may make you late for work, late to pick up the kids from school. It may cause your increasingly-expensive sack of frozen food to begin thawing as you sit on the side of the road waiting for rescue by AAA or a loved one. (Not a whole lot of fun to think about, is it?)
Please take a few moments and watch our video below which helps visually explain the importance of spark plugs in keeping your vehicle on the road.
Tuneup Service Details
Regardless of the make and model of your vehicle, standard tuneup service includes a painstaking inspection to make sure everything is in working order. If something out-of-the-ordinary is amiss, we let you know and get your okay to fix it before diving in.
At Chuck’s Auto Repair in North Seattle and Shoreline our vehicle tuneup service includes preventive maintenance, necessary adjustments, and a performance analysis. If your vehicle is misbehaving in any way—starting harder than it should, stalling, misfiring, guzzling gas, losing power, or any other anomaly—let us know. We’ll look for and determine the cause and give you a reliable quote to fix it.
During a standard tuneup we’ll replace (as needed) spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor and check and replace, clean or adjust points and condensers, timing belts, ignition wires, air and fuel filters, PCV valves, vital fluids, belts and hoses, and safety items (lights, wipers, tires and tire pressure, horn, and more). We’ll also check idling speed, the choke on engines with carburetors, fuel injectors, compression/power balance, manifold intake vacuums, batteries, exhaust emissions, and trouble codes if needed. In short, we’ll make sure your vehicle is road-worthy and purring like a kitten.
Voted Washington’s finest by uncounted satisfied customers (thank you, thank you, thank you to all who voted!), we make sure the vehicle you drive gets the tuneup service it needs to keep you keepin’ on in comfort and safety.
Call right now to schedule your tune up—you know it’s time.

We had a great experience at Chuck's. Our car was overdue for a much needed tune up! These guys understand quality work and customer service. This was my first experience taking a car to them but it won't be the last.
(both big and routine) done on my 17-yr old Honda Element and all the work has been trouble-free and on-time. Incidentally, their bumper-to-bumper vehicle inspection is highly recommended. With printout in hand one can easily review any repairs necessary (color-graded according to how critical they are). It comes complete with detailed descriptions, even photos (!). By studying the report the customer can take the time to thoughtfully assess what needs to be done and how soon. I also trust their counsel and judgement because they have assured me many times that certain possible repairs listed on the report can be postponed into the future and be simply monitored for now. In other words, there is never any sales "pressure" at the counter. All that plus their timely communications make for a consummate and reliable automobile service experience.

prioritizing what needs to be done immediately (safety concerns) and what can wait. Employees are always kind and speak to you in a way that, even if you don't know much about cars, that you can understand doesn't make you feel incompetent of understanding the situation. I've only had positive experiences and definitely plan on coming back. Thank you so much.

As a first-time customer I was treated like a regular. My initial estimate was received promptly and so was the service. These guys really did me a huge favor, resulting in a...
explained very clearly everything they recommended and the pricing. They stayed within the estimate and had our car back to us quickly - in Monday and out on Wednesday. We have been taking our cars there for decades, starting when Chuck Peters, the original owner, was there. The new owner and staff have continued Chuck's tradition of fast, friendly, reliable service. We highly recommend them.
