We are now proud to offer air conditioning service for vehicles using the newest R-1234yf refrigerant! Our new enviromentally freindly A/C machine services R-1234yf vehicles, which is a type of refrigerant that is most common in newer makes of cars especially the Hybrids.
This new A/C Machine is the latest of its kind and is not available at most auto repair shops in the Seattle Area. All new models of cars since 2018 are using the R-1234yf refrigerant in their air conditioning systems. And most of these vehicles are now coming out of the Manufactorers Warranty.
The R-1234yf refrigerant is the gold standard for climate control systems in new vehicles, and our experienced technicians are trained to use this new machine and work with vehicles requiring this type of special refrigerant, so you can be sure that your vehicle will be properly serviced here at our shop.
The process for servicing vehicles using the R-1234yf refrigerant is more complicated than the R-134a refrigerant. Vehicles using the new refrigerant also have different service fittings in order to prevent cross contamination between vehicles.
The reason for the increasing popularity of the R-1234yf refrigerant is because of how much more environmentally friendly it is. It has a much lower effect on our environment. The old standard refrigerant, R-134a, is a large contributor to our carbon footprint. To put this into perspective, the R-134a has a Global Warming Potential of 1300 while the new R-1234yf refrigerant has a Global Warming Potential of less than 3.
